Audrey (Sager) Householder

Audrey Sager Householder of Malden, Centerville Borough, passed away on December 27, 2017 in Allegheny General Hospital.  She was born on August 21 1926 in Hiller, PA, daughter of the late William and Bessie Sager.   Audrey was married to the late Richard E. Householder, they were married for 58 years, he preceded her in death on October 4, 2009.  Audrey graduated from Murray State University, Kentucky with a degree in Music Education. She was a private piano teacher, taught music at the Centerville Borough Schools, California Area High School and retired from Trinity Area High School, Washington, PA.

A retired choir director and organist of South Brownsville Methodist Church, member of Eastern Star # 29061, Monessen Chapter, 205, Member of Sigma Alpha Lota Sorority, the Washington County Teachers association, and the Pennsylvania Associated of School Retirees (PASR).  Audrey enjoyed playing golf and was a member of several golf leagues in Pennsylvania and Florida.  She also enjoyed playing the piano during church services at Southern Presbyterian Senior Care Southminster Place.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Pete Sager and sister-in-law Francine, brother-in-law Robert Householder and sister-in-law Ester Householder, sister-in-law Gayle Prentice, and her daughter-in-law Sherry Householder.

She is survived by her three children, R. Scott Householder of Brownsville, Gary Householder and wife, Laurie, of Elizabeth Township; and Holly Stack and husband, Philip, of Olney, MD; four grandchildren, Brian Householder, Rachel Glath and husband James, Amy Householder, and Kali Yuhas and husband Steve.; her sister, Donna (Gene) Thompson of Zelienople, PA, as well as three grandsons and many nieces and nephews. 

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Thursday December 29, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M., and until 1:00 pm Friday, when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with Rev. Gary Gibson officiating,

Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Southminster Place, 880 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301
