Carol Boyle Obituary

Dorthy C. “Carol” (Fields) Sibula Boyle, 82, of Blainsburg, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at The Gatehouse Hospice Unit, Williamsport, after a four year battle with kidney disease.

Carol was born on February 7, 1942 at home in California and was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Alberta C. (Bair) Fields.  She graduated from California Area High School in 1959.

On June 29, 1963, she married the late Louis C. Sibula and they were the proud parents of two baby boys.  An unfortunate work accident took the life of Louis in July 1967.  For 10 years, Carol, and with the help of her parents, raised the two boys.  In 1978, Carol married Wesley B. “Wes” Boyle and they had shared 42 years of marriage until his death in 2021.

Over the years, Carol had worked at Sheehans Grocery, Brodaks, Shirley’s Video, Giant Eagle and Saris Candies.  Carol and Wes had purchased a motor home and over the years, they traveled the United States and over that time, they had been to 49 of the 50 states, Alaska being the only one they missed.  After traveling, they started spending their summer time at Pioneer Park Campground in their travel trailer.  They had done that for 30 years.  Carol was a former member of St. Aquinas Catholic Church, the Jaycees and had worked the voter polls.  In her spare time, she enjoyed yard sales, sitting on her porch swing, mowing grass on her John Deere lawnmower and spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by one son; Louis C. “Lou” Sibula, Jr. of Williamsport, two grandchildren; Nick C. Sibula (Julie) of Mt. Pleasant and Maggie J. Schroeder (Chad) of Irwin, five great-grandchildren; Maverick Sibula, Haley Schroeder, Daxton Sibula,  Lillian “Lilly” Schroeder and Colton Schroeder, two aunts; Loretta Crone of Long Branch and Darlene Shemansky of Richeyville, one uncle; Edwin Bair (Virginia) of Brownsville, stepchildren; Rhett Boyle of Blainsburg, Blaine Boyle of Smithfield and Robin Horner of Roscoe, step-grandchildren; Michael Horner, Carri Franco (Lewis) and Matthew Horner (Holly) and step-great grandchildren; Luke Franco, Ava Horner and Fallon Horner.  In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son; Scott A. Sibula.

In keeping with Carol’s wishes, viewing and burial services were held privately with immediate family only.  She was buried in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, please just do an act of kindness for someone because that is what Carol would have done.
