**Obituary for Cecelia Joyce Markovich**

Cecelia Joyce ”Sis” Markovich, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on Monday, June 5, 1944, a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Hardoby) Nagg.  Sis devoted her life to her family and home, nurturing and supporting those she loved.

She was a member of the Daisytown Athletic Club. She also loved to sew and craft.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Markovich (December 14, 2019.)

Cecelia is survived by her children, son, Joseph Markovich, and his wife, Rosemary; and daughter, Pamela Luko, and her husband, John; her cherished sister, Shirley Dettlings; her brother, Frank Nielson, and sister-in-law, Nancy Nielson. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Joseph Markovich, Jr. (Mikayla), Joshua Luko, Jennie Markovich (Brendan Mickoloff), Kristina Luko, and her beloved dog, Cupid, all who brought her immense joy and pride

As we remember Sis, we reflect on the warmth she brought into our lives—a nurturing force who crafted a loving home filled with laughter, compassion, and unwavering support. Her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial visitation will be held to celebrate her life on June 23, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA 15419. Let us gather together to honor her memory and the lasting impact she has made on all of us. A Memorial service will be private and at the convenience of her family.
