David McMasters Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David K. McMasters (67). He was born on August 28, 1958 in Aliquippa, a son of the late Lester D. and Sara Jane (Johnson) McMasters.

Dave was a 1976 graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School and he later went on to be a Washington County 911 dispatcher for 20 years, retiring in February 2014. He was currently driving for Impiccini Bus Lines as well as volunteering with the California Fire Department. He was a member of various social clubs in the area including the Roscoe Slovak Club, California Hill Gun Club, Roscoe Sportsmens Association, West Brownsville Legion and others, always sharing a beer and a story.

Dave was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved watching all games, but his most favorite was Penn State Football, especially when he had the chance to take a few trips to Beaver Stadium with family and friends.

While Dave enjoyed visiting with friends at the local clubs, he was happiest at home when his family was all together. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren where they shared many laughs and memories.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Anita (Klima) McMasters, four daughters, Breanne Schaum, Lindsay Scrip (Bill), Chelsey Sennett (Scott) and Courtnee McMasters (Anna Elko), one brother, Robert McMasters (Sue), one sister Lexine Tanski (Arthur), four brothers-in-law, George Klima (Gail), John Klima, Jerry Klima and Mark Klima (Jill), seven grandchildren, Chase, Addisyn, Avery, Zander, Trenton, Sadie and Callen and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, preceding him death were his sister and brother-in-law, Linda Cheryl and Leonard Morrow, his mother and father-in-law John (Red) and Susan Klima, and sister-in-law, Patricia Klima.

Family will receive friends on Friday February 27, 2026 from 1 until 6 pm in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA.

The Roscoe and California Volunteer Fire Departments will accord honors at 6 pm to conclude visitation.

In honor of Dave and his love of Penn State, his family is asking for you to wear your blue and white Penn State gear.
