**Obituary for Debra Rae Gillen**

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Debra Rae Gillen, a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and educator, who left this world on February 15, 2025. She was born in Charleroi, PA on December 14, 1954, a daughter of William Scrip, Sr., and the late Darla (Ames) Scrip.

Her passion for teaching was matched only by her love for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, John “Poke” Gillen; her children, Christopher “C.J.” Gillen and wife Brandy, Jacob “Jake” Gillen and wife Brittany, and Chelsey Rae Morich and husband Matt, and her cherished grandchildren, Raegan, Bailey, Parker, Miko, Nolan, and Macie. Debra also leaves behind her father, William Scrip, and her brother and sister-in-law, William Scrip, Jr., and Melanie Scrip, all who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

In addition to her mother, Debra was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy Pellick.

Debra's warmth, kindness, vibrant energy, and unwavering support of her family and friends will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We take comfort in reflecting on the countless memories she created with her loved ones and the positive impact she had on her family.

Family will receive friends on Friday February 21, 2025, from 2 to 6 PM, in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., 323 Fourth Street, California, PA, Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor.

Funeral services will begin at 6:00 PM, in the funeral home with Rev. Brian Carroll, officiating.
