Duane Paul McCain 68, of California, Pennsylvania and Blairsville, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He devoted more than 40 years of his career to Joy Mining (Komatsu), where his hard work and dedication left a lasting mark.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Natalie Renae McCain; his parents, Marlene (Boncarosky) and Duane “Shotgun” McCain; and his loyal canine companion, Duncan.
Duane is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Gladys; his children, Ryan of Mechanicsburg, Chelsea of Pittsburgh ; Michael (Heather) Shearman of Salix, PA; his cherished grandchildren, Emmett and Elliott; and his sister, Brenda (Dave) Selelyo of California.
Duane was a masterful thinker, creator, and problem-solver. He had a lifelong passion for designing and fabricating, always working on projects to support his wide range of interests. From building his street rod and enjoying years of boating, to maintaining his property and, most importantly, spending time with his children, Duane poured creativity and ingenuity into everything he did.
Above all, Duane will be remembered for his strength, his devotion to family, and his ability to find solutions where others saw obstacles.
Family will receive friends in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm,
Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Amory Merriman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Phillipsburg Cemetery
