Frank Gudel Jr., a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born on August 30, 1951, in Brownsville, PA, a son of the late Frank Gudel, Sr. and Garnet (Mills) Gudel. Frank became a beloved figure known for his warm smile and kind heart.
He dedicated his career to public housing as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Washington County Housing Authority, where he was respected and admired by colleagues for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to his community. He took immense pride in ensuring that homes were safe and well-maintained, often going above and beyond for those he served.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son, Scott Allen Gudel; three sisters, Betty, Dorothy and Kathy, and his brother, John.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Gudel; daughters Amy Spada and Jill Gudel-Williams, and their husbands Greg Spada and Rob Williams; son David Gudel and daughter-in-law Lori; son Travis Alton and daughter-in-law Michelle; and his dear sister Anette Dulaney. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Together, they will hold him close in their hearts, remembering the laughter and love he brought into their lives.
In his leisure, Frank was an avid golfer who could often be found spending weekends on the green. His love for the thrill of life extended to outings at the casino and the excitement of scratching off lottery tickets; adventures that brought him joy and created lasting memories with family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Anthony N Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 PM, in the funeral home, with Rev. Amory Merriman, officiating.
While we mourn the loss of Frank Gudel Jr., we also celebrate a life well-lived. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide those he loved, and his legacy will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.
