George William Bakos

George William  Bakos, 83, of California, PA, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born Sunday, August 12, 1934, in Phillipsburg, PA, a son of the late George and Esmeralda (Finney) Bakos.

He was a member of California Young Men's Club and a lifelong resident of California (Phillipsburg) PA. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

George was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Lee (Brummett) Bakos; four children, Bill Bakos and wife Sherri of California, PA, Karen Daley of California, PA, Michelle  Contreras of Daisytown, PA, and Sean A. Bakos of Daisytown, PA.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Rachel Buza and husband Joe, Megan Monack and husband Sam, Tabitha Bakos, Matthew Pepper, Jacob Pepper, Ryan Pepper, Victoria Durkin and husband Brock, Michael Darbous, Sean A. Bakos, Jr. and five great grandchildren, Olivia Buza, Erica Buza, Morgan Bakos, Mollie Monack, and Zoe Altobelli.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and until 11 am on Wednesday, February 21 with Rev. Diane Hopson officiating.

Interment will follow in Phillipsburg Cemetery.
