**Obituary for Helen Wanda Mendish**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Wanda Mendish, who left this world peacefully on December 3, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on May 11, 1929, in Westmoreland City, PA, Helen was a cherished member of her community in Brownsville, PA, where she lived for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Mendish (1995); son, Douglas Andrew Menish; daughter-in-law, Denise Krusenski: five brothers, and five sisters.

She is lovingly remembered by her grandsons, Bryan, Shawn, and Steven Mendish. Helen also leaves behind her nephews, Kurt Wood and wife Michelle, and Ed Smollen: niece, Barbara Overto, and Kurt's step-son Bobby Preston, who, along with many others, will carry her memory in their hearts.

Helen's family invites all who knew and loved her to gather and celebrate her life in a warm and compassionate atmosphere. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on December 30, 2024, at 10:30 am, in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, PA with Fr. Efren Ambre, as celebrant.

In these difficult times, let us find solace in the love and memories we shared with Helen  Mendish, a woman whose spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
