Janet Catherine (Shultz) Woods

Janet Catherine Woods (Shultz), 84, of California, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 30, 2023.  . She was born on August 31, 1939, in Berkley Mills, Pennsylvania. Janet was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

Janet is survived by her  daughters: Wendy Folmar (Forrest), Stacey Colborn (Charles), and Janey Buccella (Paul). She was a loving grandmother to Adam Greenlief, Ashley Boidock, Allison Greenlief, Kyle Colborn (Nicole), Andrew Colborn, and Julie Buccella. Janet was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Emily, Luke, and Kathryn Boidock, Aleena and Noa Colborn. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Javan, brother-in-law George Jenkins, brother-in-law Phillip Woods and sister-in-law Byra Woods. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hilda Shultz, her husband, Willard W Woods, and her siblings, Sandra Jenkins, Judy Bolden, and Jerry Shultz. 

Janet had a fulfilling career as an Administration Assistant at Herron Recreation Center at Cal U of PA.  She worshipped at the California United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the choir and served on various committees. She was known for her beautiful baskets and also enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

A memorial Visitation will be held in the United Methodist Church of California, 227 3rd St., on January 6, 2024, from 11 am until 12 pm. Memorial service will begin at 12:00 pm  with Rev. Heather Wakefield officiating.
