John J. Timko

John J. Timko, 82, of Blainesburg, PA, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

He was born Thursday, November 8, 1934, in Charleroi, PA, a son of the late Andrew F. and Pauline (Kutcy)Timko.

He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in California, PA. John proudly served in the Army after graduating from High School. John began his working career at the California Water Company, then Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, before mining coal at Vesta 5.  After leaving the coal mine he found his calling, working for himself as a carpenter and general contractor.

In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Andrew Timko and his brother-in-law, Nelson Spitak.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Linda (Lutes) Timko, and their four sons,  John J. Timko Jr. and wife Kristen, David Timko and wife Dawn Cheree, Larry Timko and wife Anna and Patrick Timko and wife Tracey and his sister, Agnes Spitak.  Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren, Jimmy and Joshua, Derek and Davey, Jacob and Matthew, Bradley and Morgan, Logan, Cameron and Gavin Timko.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 2-8 pm and until 10:00 am on Friday when prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Katharine Drexel Parish, California Campus with Fr. Paul Grunebach as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery
