Joseph J. Nick

Joseph John Nick, 76, of California, PA, died Saturday, January 6, 2024.

He was born July 8, 1947, in Brownsville, PA, a son to Steven Nick and Verna (Semonsky) Nick.

Joseph proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a coal miner at Mathies Coal Company for 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, John Paul Nick; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Lana Nick ; his mother-in-law, Anna (Eddy) Wolfe; and sisters-in-law, Wendy and Nancy Nick.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty years, Paulette Nick; son and daughter-in-law  Joel and Krissy Nick; brothers, Frank Nick, and Michael Nick; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Dave Swarrow and his grandson, Elliot Nick. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 6-8 pm, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and until 11 am on Friday when funeral services will begin in the funeral home with Rev. Kristen Emrick, officiating.

Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Briar Hill, PA where full military honors will be accorded.
