Joseph V. Wachinski

Joseph V Wachinski Sr. of California passed away May 11, 2017.  He was the son of Leo and Catherine Grunska Wachinski.
 

He is survived by daughter Christina and Robert Weaver ( the fourth son) with who he made his home, daughter Cynthia & Ronald Harper of Carroll Township, son Joseph and Laurel of Belle Vernon, son David & Sandra, son Michael of Butler Pa. 12 grandchildren , 16 great grandchildren and his favorite caregiver of the past 5 years- his Jenny.
 

Joseph spent 4 years in the United States Army and 2 years in the Merchant Marines and enjoyed traveling the world. He often told”his version" of the travels over and over again.
 

Joseph was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife of 54 years Florence. Brothers John, Tony, Leo and a sister Sophie.
 

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA 15419 on Friday from 6-8 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Katharine Drexel Parish, (California Campus 409 Union Street) on Saturday May 13 at 10:00 am with Fr. Paul Grunebach as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
