Obituary for Lena Byrne
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lena Byrne, beloved mother cherished grandmother and aunt, who left this world on April 9, 2026, with her family by her side. Born on January 8, 1931, in Monessen, Pennsylvania, Lena lived a life rich in love and dedication to her family.
A proud homemaker, Lena devoted herself to creating a nurturing and warm environment for her loved ones. Her selflessness and unwavering support have left an indelible mark on the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a beacon of strength and compassion, always ready with a kind word or a comforting embrace.
In addition to her parents, Cosmio and Jestina Divina Rosina (Santoro) Antonucci, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Walter Belski, second husband Albert Byrne, and siblings Ciro, Louis and Cosmio Antonucci, Marie Deblasio, Carmela Washlack, Matilda Cynaovich, Sylvia Swamp and Dorothy Allen.
Lena is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Christine and John Sezawich; cherished grandson, John Sezawich II; numerous nieces and nephews; caregivers, Donna and Leroy Nicholson, Sharon Ray, Brian and Amanda Nicholson and Jennifer Henry. Her legacy will continue to shine through them, as they carry forward her spirit of love and kindness.
Family will receive friends in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Sunday April 12, 2026 from 6-8 pm. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday April, 13 at 11 am to honor Lena's life and memory, bringing family and friends together to celebrate the extraordinary life of a remarkable woman who touched so many with her warmth and grace.
