Linda Sue Savochka, 67, of East Millsboro, PA, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Thursday, May 12, 1949, in Brownsville, PA, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Lou (Rohrer) Kozup.
She was a member of the California First Presbyterian Church. Linda was a volunteer in many organizations, making mission trips to Mississippi and Louisiana for hurricane Katrina and medical missions to Haiti. She was a bereavement counselor for Camp Shining Star in Jumonville for eight years. She was a Fayette Care Giver, worked youth missions for the California First Presbyterian Church, Make-a-Wish, a Hospice Volunteer, and was a past coordinator for Fayette County Special Olympics. Linda was also a Deacon of the California First Presbyterian Church and did visitations to shut ins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Billy Sudul.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Samuel Savochka; four children, Brandon Savochka and wife Tracy of Butler, PA, Jason Savochka and wife Mimi of Chester Springs, PA, Justin Savochka and wife Carrie of Falmouth, KY, Roni McKernan and husband Jeff of Thompson Station, TN; sister, Michale Sudul of New Bern, NC; brothers Scott Kozup and wife Gina of New Bern, NC, David Kozup and wife Sherri of Greenville, NC. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Amber Toner and husband Jimmy, Samantha Savochka, Ty Savochka, Laci Savochka, Cade Savochka, Olivia Savochka, Braden Savochka, Caitlyn McKernan, Zoe Savochka, Zach Savochka, Kieran McKernan, Lachlan McKernan, Dillon Pugh and two great grandchildren, Riley Peffer and Dylan Dickey.
Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning in the First Presbyterian Church from 9 am until 10:00 am the hour of service with Rev. Candace Cook, officiating.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
