Mary Nell Johnson

Mary Nell Johnson, 80, of Brownsville, PA, died Saturday, August 12, 2017.

She was born Thursday, May 6, 1937, in Jackson, MS, a daughter of the late Avery 'Bud' and Marietta (Koonce) James.

She was a member of the art group at the Center in the Woods and she was active with the United Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in California, PA

In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Hash; husband Larry Johnson; two brothers, Alvin 'Buzzy'James and Dickey James and two sisters, Juanita Worthy and Wanda Woods.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, son, Dale Hash of Brownsville, PA; daughter, Mary Lucinda Haskell and husband Kevin of Alta Loma, CA, daughter Valinda Sue Tuey and husband Gene of Ladera Ranch, Ca; brother, Avery 'Sonny' James and wife Frances of Franklin, IN; sisters, Norma Carson of Gulf Port, MS, Cecil Marie James of Franklin, IN, Patricia Hendricks of Kokomo, IN, and brother, Tommy James of Kokomo, IN.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kayla Haskell, Mathew Haskell, Gary Tuey, and Lana Tuey.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 11 am to 1 pm Funeral Services will begin at 1 pm with Rev. David Chafin officiating.

Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery.
