Nancy Jane Saxe Franks of Brownsville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 10, 2025. She was born on Friday, April 24, 1942, a daughter of the Late Ronald and Jane (Elsie) Saxe.
Nancy was a 1960 graduate of California High School. After high school Nancy became a full time mother and bubby to her 5 children and 14 grandchildren. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to play cards especially bridge. In her younger years she spent a lot of time dancing. Nancy loved to cook and bake. After her children were grown she attended a florist school and opened Honey Bee Floral. Later she took a job as the Tour Coordinator for Nemacolin Castle. She was a fantastic storyteller and loved to wear the period clothing to look the part. Nancy loved sharing her knowledge with the groups who visited the castle.
In addition to her parents Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband Abraham Franks Sr. in 1976, brothers Thomas Saxe, Wilfred (Alan) Saxe and sister in law Joni Saxe.
She is survived by her children Tami Kudyba, Rhonda Basso, Kenneth Ames, Jr., Nellie (Gary) Snyder, Abe (Alyssa) Franks, Jr.; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Anthony) Capuzzi, Samatha Ames, Jessica (Ryan) Jenson, Kenneth (Jackie) Ames III., Dustin Franks, Peter Brown, Kami Franks, Kendra Franks and Naomi Snyder, Orlando Ames, Denise Ames, Nancy Ames Richard Ames and Henry Ames; five great- grandchildren, Lyla, Peyton, Juniper, Christian and Luna. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law Geraldine (Gerry) Saxe and Connie McClelland.
Nancy was blessed to be cared for by her son Abe, daughter-in-law Alyssa and granddaughter, Kendra. She always commented on how well they took care of her.
As per her wishes, there will be a celebration of life at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to The Brownsville Historical Society PO Box 24 Brownsville PA 15417.
