Paul Hotz

Paul Hotz, 91, of California, PA, died Sunday, June 4, 2017.

He was born Saturday, March 27, 1926, in California, PA, a son of the late Louis and Melanie (Tuday) Hotz.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church of California and the United Christian Church of California.  He was a graduate of East Pike Run High School, class of 1944. Paul was retired from the Borough of California where for 38 years he was the supervisor of the Waste Water Treatment Facility.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Alex Hotz and sisters Olga Hotz Stroud and Sandra Hotz Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years Sophia Patricia Powell Hotz; son, Paul  Hotz, Jr. and wife Brenda of California, PA; granddaughter,  Stephanie Freeman and husband Mark of Latrobe and great grandchildren Everett Paul and Olivia Claire Freeman.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and until 11:00 am on Thursday, June 8, 2017 when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with Rev. David Chafin officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
