Rilla Ann (Davis) McMonagle

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rilla Ann McMonagle, a beloved mother, friend, and cherished member of the California, PA community. Rilla was born on October 10, 1932, a daughter of Harry and Florence (Watson) Davis, in California, PA, and departed from this world peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 93.

Rilla dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, crafting a warm and loving environment for her husband, Regis, and sons, Mark, Patrick and Kelly.  She touched the lives of those around her with her kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit. Rilla will be remembered for her nurturing soul, her passion for life, and her commitment to creating a loving home.

In addition to her parents, Rilla was preceded in death by her husband, Regis; sons, Kelly and Mark; and siblings, Dora Hornbake, Billie Jean Shilling, Harry Day Davis, Barry Davis and Patricia Nee.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Patrick, and her brother, Thomas "Mickey" Davis, and his wife, Cookie.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Rilla's extraordinary life and legacy in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA, on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Efren Ambre officiating, as we gather to honor her life and the love she shared. Following the service, Rilla will be laid to rest in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Coal Center, PA, beside her husband and sons, Kelly and Mark.

In this time of sorrow, we invite all who were touched by Rilla's warmth to join us in remembering the remarkable woman she was. May her memory live on in our hearts and inspire us to carry forth her light into the world.
