**Obituary for Wilfrid Francis Burket III**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilfrid Francis Burket III, he was born on July 21, 1960, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Wil left this world peacefully on December 16, 2024, at the age of 64 due to natural causes.

Wil was a dedicated truck driver, spending countless hours on the road and earning the respect of everyone who crossed his path. He took pride in his work and the freedom it brought him. When he wasn’t behind the wheel, you could find him surrounded by his family, sharing stories filled with laughter and love.

Wil is survived by his sons, Teddy Lee Bird (Rita), Willie Francis Burket (Ginger), Kenny Orland Burket (Patricia Shrader), and Raymond Duncan. He also leaves behind his cherished mother, Joanne Patterson, and his siblings, Regina (Donnie) Lauther, David Burket, Frankie (Eric) Mark, and Frannie Claude. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to two great-granddaughters.  He also leaves his companion of 31 years, Cindy Mercado, with whom he shared his home.

A celebration of Wil's life will be held soon, where family and friends will gather to share their memories and honor the joy he brought to all of our lives. We will update with details of the service and ceremonies in the following days.

Wil will be greatly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, good man.

Wilfrid was preceded in death by his father, Wilfrid Burket, and sister Pamela Newman.
